Whilst ironing I was thrown into excruciating pain. The first things that entered my mind was
1) I must have cut my toe nails a little too short, I hope I haven’t got an ingrowing nail, and
2) blimey that chemo stuff really messed with my extremities
Then the pain got a little worse so I thought I better investigate. It was only my big toe being cheese wired, right where the nail starts. I pulled a bit and I rubbed a bit and the pain subsided a little. Now, two hours later the pain has gone. Phew, I missed amputation for another day.
Unfortunately with a pair of tights as holey as these, toe strangulation is extremely normal. The other warning I must give is “foot through gaps” syndrome when putting them on. After a couple of attempts, using my normal method of stick foot in and pull up. I changed tack and used the gather hosiery all the way to the ends and unravel over toes towards thighs. It worked for these legsavenue fishnets. Last posted December 2016.
Again I was impressed by the change of weave around the toes.
This is my faux Christmas post. As I have mentioned before I am either still in hospital or I’ve been allowed to go home and heal, both situations are not ideal for hosiery wearing so this post was aptly chosen for the yuletide edition because of their cheekiness. They bring a little cheer into your lives.
Legsavenue “Hardcore net pantyhose” it says on the packet. Quite comfortable, gorgeous design. A crochet style fishnet creating a diamond, criss cross pattern. Having such big holes made them a bit difficult to put on with the holes becoming tourniquets on my toes. Then the interesting bit came along, a slight change in weave. The toes became a smaller fishnet which more or less worked to save my digits but with a bit of wriggling and stretching I did get a couple of strangled toe moments. They are not a thin thread but a thick string so still felt very warming despite the gigantic fishnet holes.
Best Halloween Smile
I’ve put on my best Halloween smile and found the easiest costume ever and have become an oriental, old Wednesday Addams. Donning a pair of Legsavenue Itsy Bitsy Spider net pantyhose I got into the Halloween spirit. Shame everyone doesn’t appreciate this look all year round. I do and I don’t usually have to use Halloween to dress up scarily but I do use Halloween to do the entire outfit. With a front seam which could easily turn around and become a back seam it crocheted into a cool web design and then up to a scary spider hiding in your skirts. I loved it!
Had a fun day wearing these legsavenue mustachioed tights. Very vibrant and a recognisable pattern. No slippage so no wrinkles and they stayed put. After wearing a series of black tights I did feel a little exposed but that will wear off as the tights season progresses and I start getting more wacky coloured hosiery.
Diamonds are Forever
Diamonds are forever! Double diamonds today with this pair of diamond net holdups with diamond backseam by Leg Avenue. Again no silicon and so using spandex (is this elastic?) they held up by the power of strangulation.
It’s a day of doubles because as well as cutting off the circulation to my legs the effect was replicated at the toes when they got tangled up in the net.
They should look like the top with a comfortable covering of the toes keeping them neat and tidy but instead they sneakily slipped and the net provided a very efficient tourniquet for all five toes.
Fishnets are always sexy and the diamond backs are super cool, breaking up the mesh pattern creating a more interesting look. They were comfortable, it’s just I don’t like being squashed and getting overheated on another day that started wet and horrible.
As in the case of all my posts, it is not easy to look this good! 😉
It was grey and a bit chilly yesterday when I woke up so saw it as a hosiery wearing day, the rainbow fishnets came out! These are Leg Avenue, rainbow fishnet holdups.
They were a rainbow fine fishnet with a larger black fishnet on top, cleverly constructed into one stocking. They did not have any silicon at the top so I had to rely on pure elastic to hold them up. They did fall a little and because of the elastic thigh high they felt like I was wearing a humongous pair of socks rather than sleek stockings. I would recommend them to anyone if they were going out to party or fancy dress but not really all day wear, unless you were a serious goth.
