Hooo Hooo Hoooowwwll
Hooo hooo hoooowwwll! I went to visit my old friend Karen and we had a fantastic natter about cancer treatment over a cuppa. Her hubby used to work for the local tights factory and on hearing about my blog gave me a couple of pairs of tights. This is one of them. “House of Holland” blue houndstooth tights. Yes they are very blue and yes they are very houndstoothy. In the light of the house, I decided to wear my new fluffy skechers heeled boots with them. I walked out and in natural light I looked a little more than odd.
After a quick trip to the local village shops, I felt they weren’t the most ideal footwear and opted for these grey platformed heeled boots for my excursion into town this afternoon. You decide.
My only criticism is the length. Being “one size”, I experienced wrinkly ankles and the waistband coverage was vast. My whole belly area was comfortably covered and if I tried I would be able to recreate the safe sex scene in “The Naked Gun” film.

A meal worth eating
This was definitely a meal worth eating. When I walk into a potential food establishment my bowls and dishes are full and on my exit to everyone’s satisfaction my vessels are empty.
So these tights are by thehumanmade and called Ming Dinnersty. High denier, very warm and comfortable. One size only so there’s a little sag on me but I love the fun of them.

Secrets of hosiery
Today I’m goiung to reveal one of the secrets of hosiery.
This is what goes on behind the doors of a hosiery wearer. Yes extra socks to prevent lace tights from rubbing my feet. I usually forget to do this and end up with sore feet for the next day. I tend to find the brightest coloured socks in an un contrastiung pattern to not match my tights. Hey, I’m not going to pretend they’re not there.
These tights are my second pair of Golden Lady floral lace. This time given to me by my pal LT, the first sadly died when I applied too much pressure and pushed my hand through them. They are an ace clear pattern and because of the material, feels crochet-ee keep you warm in autumn weather.

Leg Warmers, I’m making them hip for next season
Leg Warmers, I’m making them hip for next season. I’ve always been ahead of the style curve, so hip that no one really notices that the trends of today, I was seeking or wearing a few years ago. Maybe that should possibly push me into the eccentric world rather the trendsetter circle. Hmmm!
Sooo, what’s with the leg warmers? Have I taken up fitness… no. Have I become obsessed with nostalgia and started to binge watch old series of Fame… no, even though I do fly! Do I have a friend as mad as me who challenged me to knit my own but then went out to get me some to make me feel better… yes!!! Like me she’s a girl with the same trendsetter (eccentric) style, and bought me bright, wacky, stripey designs. So everyday I got a special package in the post. Now I will be the brightest patient on the chemo ward! Thank you to my lovely, good friend Maz!!!

Catherine of Oroblu
Behold the lady Catherine of Oroblu!
When you fancy something different, why not grab a pair of sky blue floral tights and beam. Good quality, comfortable hosiery. Felt a bit scratchy to begin but I think I’ve neglected my skin lately and need a good moisture treatment. How else do I make an entrance?

Primark Cable Navy Blue
What do I think about these Primark cable navy blue tights? Good. The pattern was bold and clear but they were a bit scratchy. Probably not noticeable but I have been wearing quite a few soft wool hosiery and my skin has got a bit sensitive.

Next to shimmer
Next to shimmer! I got these in the Next outlet and they were a bargain price so I bought four pairs altogether, which I will be showcasing over the next few days. If your size is available, bargain buckets, outlet joints and sale items are my favourite haunts for tights. They are a treasure trove for unusally patterned hosiery or out of this world colours.
This shimmery blue pair provided a bit of glitter to my day. They were very scratchy due to the “glimmer” element. They did have a reinforced toe so at least the scratchiness did not affect the toes.

Gorgeous Gerbe
This season I’ve tried a few more brands and these are Gorgeous Gerbe. I’m always wanting to wear fabulous colours and as you all know I love patterned legs and this pair of tights fits the bill. In subtle blue (or is it purple) it’s not garish and after wearing them I want to go out and buy more coloured hosiery.
This is what you get when you open them. A little reminder of who they are, which is also found on the waistband. They are comfortable, slightly sheer and just really pretty.

Iceland wasn’t as cold
Iceland wasn’t as cold as I thought it would be. I had packed appropriately and was planning on a lot of layering. I’ve had a bit of trouble with trousers but that’s another story that will be told at a later date. I took this pair of woolley Elle winter soft tights in navy blue with a splash of colour in the form of these cute orange daisies. They did the job. Warmth and comfort and cool looking too.
The first day of my trip was extremely bitter cold but the rest of my stay the weather was a tad bit warmer and my ensemble of T-shirt, dress, hand knitted lopi jumper, thick tights, leg warmers, coat, ear warmer, hat, gloves and scarf kept me warm. I don’t think I could have worn much else 😆
Additional review… leg warmers! After numerous jibes about gymming it and getting physical, were my leg warmers a success? Yes they were! I was tempted to wear them stretched and high and just look like the div I am but I didn’t. They proved a necessity and my advice is, if you want to stay warm in cooler climates, nobody judges how silly you may look. Hey in my case, I would be jealous that I hadn’t thought of it myself.
