Leg it go

In the words of Elsa, when you are confined to the house just leg it go!

I am butting in with this post and proudly presenting you with my third leg.

Hmmm, if your friend has just had a major operation and is recuperating at home, what do you get them? Well my friends get me a display mannequin leg and I love it. I had a rather scary moment when I opened it. My thoughts were “How do I get these potential serial killers out of my house!” and “do they know something about my treatment that I don’t?” but then I realised the prosthetic limb in the box was actually a plastic display model. Yay! I did possess all four limbs which I wasn’t imagining due to reasons of denial.

Cotton Soft Stockings

I wore these cotton soft stockings or holdups by Aristoc. They come in a 10 denier but it felt higher. The matt finish just felt so soft and cottony. The simple tramline top  kept everything classy and the silicon backing just held like glue. When I first put them on I thought I might lose feeling in my legs but that settled and I just felt confident that I didn’t have any dropping issues.

Legsavenue Mustachioed

Had a fun day wearing these legsavenue mustachioed tights. Very vibrant and a recognisable pattern. No slippage so no wrinkles and they stayed put. After wearing a series of black tights I did feel a little exposed but that will wear off as the tights season progresses and I start getting more wacky coloured hosiery.

Stop and Stare from Mystockings

Stop and Stare from Mystockings were my tights of the day some time last week. Sorry for the late posting but I’ve been a bit busy with work and family.

I love mystockings! They are efficient, provide a quick and reliable service and their range of hosiery is beautiful. They stock a massive range of Ballet hosiery, started Maison Close and now Stop and Stare as well as a few others.  Thank you Kriszta and the team!

So these arrived in their mystockings signature gold wrapping which eventhough you’ve bought the hosiery yourself makes it feel like your birthday again and again.

   What a lovely surprise!

The Stop and Stare tights looked like this,

  and unwrapping them gave you a step by step instruction guide on the best way to put on delicate hosiery.

Musical dandelions, is as described. A tattoo print of a dandelion head blowing away in the wind with some seeds turning into musical notes. The tights were sleek and smooth with a silky sheer quality and a slight shimmer to them.

The tattoo print was very effective and did to some eyes look like a real tattoo. They are very comfortable due to the wide waistband which unfortunately for me rolled down and then caused a bit of droppage, that superhero second pair of knickers would have come in useful.

I have seen a few posts about Stop and Stare and they have some wonderful designs. Very unique and extremely eye catching. I need more!

Teddy Bear Fun

A bit of teddy bear fun today with this pair of pseudostockings from China, Bofeisi. I think I may be getting a bit chunky round my thighs because it was a bit of a heave-ho getting these on this morning. I’m getting back to my cooking so enjoy the day.

Red-Seamed Polka Dot Tights from Jonathan Aston

Polka dot tights are my tights of the day today. Jonathan Aston red-seamed nude hosiery. There is a slight shimmer to them which adds to the glam. I’ve had these for a while but couldn’t find an occasion to wear them, but it seems that seamed tights are in, so the world is my oyster.

Freezing Hosiery – a test?

Freezing hosiery is the latest fix for laddering tights. Does it work? Well yesterday evening I put this pair by Ballerina pattern No 310 into the freezer. I left them in there for a few hours and now am wearing them today. The big unknown is how do I know the freezing has worked? Unless I had two pairs of the same tights and wore them exactly the same time I can’t prove this theory. I will just have to hope it does work and when I get really expensive tights I freeze them first.

Again today another picture will follow because I can’t photograph myself from the back but here’s a taster. So Ballerina no 310 black on tan with a back pattern only in the guise of a fleur de lis. I thought the picture had a garter effect but on further examination they don’t. Bought from the very trusted mystockings.

Well they didn’t ladder but I was extra careful, the hue of the tan was a little darker than I expected but it just colours up my winter pale white legs. The feel of the tights is extremely smooth and silky, makes you want to touch them them all the time!

Cheeky Monkeys

I love this pair of tights because no one knows the swinging cheeky monkeys are there, unless they glimpse them through the split of my dress when I’m walking.

I think they were from ASOS and they are black on nude. I did buy another pair at  the same time and that was a washing line, but that unfortunately lasted one wear because my finger went through them when I put them on and you know how I deal with ladders.

Halloween Painted Lady

Ok not strictly speaking very scary or ghouly or anything one would associate with Halloween but it is a bit gothy and that to me means Whitby and that means Dracula and that means Halloween things. A long shot but I think it works. So a cream/nude pair with decorations that look like tattoos, my Halloween painted lady.
