Just before Christmas I went and had a Next spree. The local outlet store sells discounted hosiery for £1 a pair so I bought five or six. They’re great, patterned and some unusual colours too. This is one of them. A cream coloured crocheted holey pair. Warm, comfy, think I wore them that really cold spell just before Christmas. Did the trick. Here’s a
Burger and a Pint
One of my list of post chemo things to do is a burger and a pint at a place in town. Well it was a burger and a few pints in town. To flush it all down I wore these Emilio Cavallini tights. Superb!
It was a repeat wear and I did have some apprehensions before I put them on. In the past when I’ve reworn hosiery with holes in, they’ve become a bit rigid. Not these, lovely and soft and comfortable. Great pattern, even holes. I was so impressed I wrote another post about them.
The burger, excellent and extremely filling. Two patties with mac n cheese and buffalo fries.
What a great pattern!
What a great pattern! These are fantastic! One of my Christmas presents from my good friend JC. She done well. All the tights she got me have been gorgeous and just what this blog is about.
I don’t know what, who they are but I love the pattern of everything. There’s swirls, flowers, holes. So much to take in. A great pair of fishnets.
What do I wear on an Icelandic outing? More warm tights and a charming pair of walking boots, the most elegant of outfits. This is the year of being comfortable so out goes the sexy 10 denier hold ups for thick high number denier tights. For my travel day I opted for a repeat wear of these black holey ones. Again another yearly staple and a pair I’ve had for a few years.
I am sure these are a repeat wear but I cannot find them from the archives. Here are my thoughts but you may have heard them before. Dare I call them a crochet hole design of a good thick soft woolly texture. A good winter hosiery and the holes do stop the cold. At the moment I’m also relying on comfort. My stomach is swelling and bloated and I need tights that cover my belly. These are, and the majority of winter tights do the job and I am pleased with them.
Fabulous Falke tights today. I’ve tagged them as purple but the actual colour is violetta. I always forget how comfortable Falke hoseiry is. The waistband is wide and is name marked. The colour seemed dark in the shade but when the sun came out they shone with a warm violet. Beautiful!
The toes were supposed to look like this, with a slight reinforcement but with my feet and that funny walk I have, it didn’t take long before this happened and I got strangled toes. That’s the problem with fishnets. The hole size of this pair of tights were not as cauterising as some so not a big fault. Please excuse the neglected toe nails, did I ever tell you I’m really lazy!
Post Christmas/Pre-New Year Blues
How to solve those post Christmas/pre-New Year blues? By wearing a brand new pair of Christmas present hosiery. Ok, I went a bit mad when I added these to my wish list, and got a couple of tights of a colour I wouldn’t normally choose but a little madness has always made my life more fun! These Trasparenze pair of tights are called Gipsy and instead of the more usual black are in white. They are a fancy fishnet so white on skin.
Holes and Vertical Lines
Tights of the day today are holes and vertical lines. What I mean is and what you can see are holes set in a straight vertical line formation. Good tough lycra and a high denier which have made this pair last a few years.
Warmest tights in the World?
Even though this part of the UK is sunny, by heck it’s cold and windy! I’m wearing Via Spiga tights in black which are woolly fishnet-like. They are extremely warm and cosy and although they are size A/B (the smallest size) they are a bit long in the leg and the top for my short stature. It just makes them doubly hot by covering half my body as well as my legs!
The price tag claims they retail at $29 but I got them for £3.99 from TK Maxx. An excellent choice for a chilly day. My current warmest tights in the world.
They also unfortunately wrinkle at my ankles because of my diminutive size. 🙁
