Fishnet protectors
As usual I’m revealing the secrets of a hosiery wearer with this view of my fishnet protectors.
If I’m being an optimist then this is a two for one post.
Underneath this sexy exterior lies this! An extra pair of hosiery to stop the fishnets from rubbing my soles and causing blisters. The fishnets are Donna Karan signature collection micro tulle and the socks were a freebie with an order from China.
Yes they did protect, and yes I was aware of them all the time, and yes the sexy woman aura wasn’t as sexy.

Delayed hosiery
Here’s some delayed hosiery on display. I’ve cheated a bit this year and thought I’d try a different tactic. Previously I’d post with fresh pictures and a rushed blurb just before setting off to work. This year I’ve delayed posting and thought I’d save time by scheduling them. Both methods have their good points but today’s post will highlight a bad point of the scheduled method. These tights were worn five months ago!
These are Falke “anthra new”. A raised lined pattern, ridges I suppose in a not really black, not really grey but slate colour. They were lovely, soft, warm, comfortable.

Leg Warmers, I’m making them hip for next season
Leg Warmers, I’m making them hip for next season. I’ve always been ahead of the style curve, so hip that no one really notices that the trends of today, I was seeking or wearing a few years ago. Maybe that should possibly push me into the eccentric world rather the trendsetter circle. Hmmm!
Sooo, what’s with the leg warmers? Have I taken up fitness… no. Have I become obsessed with nostalgia and started to binge watch old series of Fame… no, even though I do fly! Do I have a friend as mad as me who challenged me to knit my own but then went out to get me some to make me feel better… yes!!! Like me she’s a girl with the same trendsetter (eccentric) style, and bought me bright, wacky, stripey designs. So everyday I got a special package in the post. Now I will be the brightest patient on the chemo ward! Thank you to my lovely, good friend Maz!!!

Monochrome Stripes
Matching monochrome stripes today. Ok maybe not the ones I’m wearing but certainly the small version are. Again modelled by my 6 year old niece, a fetching pair of tights for her Book Week “The Worse Witch” costume.
Mine, were part of a Christmas present package. They had an impressive wide waistband for comfort. Quite stretchy. Good!

Staying warm in cold climates
Still staying warm in cold climates by wearing these Penguin black tights with pink and green specks. Nice and thick and wintry. When the sun came out the pecks seemed to sparkle in the light looking neon in the daylight.
Forgive the darkness of my travel pictures. I hope you can still see the patterns.

Stripey red socks
I’m off work this week so I don’t have to look smart so I look silly instead with these stripey red socks. Hey it is the extended Halloween season. They kept me warm and I kinda looked groovy too. Just one problem with socks, they fall down and need pulling up. Especially when I walk the dog but I do pull them over my knees because of my short legs. It’s for that extra cosiness.

Legsavenue Mustachioed
Had a fun day wearing these legsavenue mustachioed tights. Very vibrant and a recognisable pattern. No slippage so no wrinkles and they stayed put. After wearing a series of black tights I did feel a little exposed but that will wear off as the tights season progresses and I start getting more wacky coloured hosiery.

¡Vamos Tienga!
¡Vamos Tienga! What prizes did the winners and runner ups receive from being marvellous hosiery? The answer to that is they get worn again and I plan their wear in a very precise and meticulous way.
¡Vamos Tienga! has a double meaning today. First being Let’s go Tienga, let’s make this day worthwhile and joyful. The second there’s a hole in my beloved Tienga and so I will have to let them go at the end of today. Jonathan Aston Tienga tights was first featured in the first month of Hose Of Fun and made such a good impression that I wore them again in April Tienga!
The reason they were winners? The pattern. It’s clearly defined and visible. It’s unusual and has pizzazz. The tights look quite long before I put them on, so long I worry that they’ll be excess and I’ll have bunching around the ankles and not enough stretch to see the pattern. As you can see this pair of hosiery does no such thing. They have impressed me each time I’ve worn them and it is with great sadness that today will be their last.

Department Store standard
So department store standard tights have been worn this week. I like to be thorough with my blogging and thought fit to wear some non patterned, non funky normal tights. These are from Debenhams, nearly black 15 denier and I found them at the back of my wardrobe.
They fit well and they looked pretty sexy. It may be because I’m used to all the patterns I’ve been wearing but they did look really good. My two down points are that they felt very scratchy and they did snag really easily.

Fantastic fishnets
These fantastic fishnets were bought from a discount hardware store. They are Golden Lady tights, diamond patterned fishnets. Wearing them on the first, very late hot summery day of the year and on a trip to London they had great impact. The pattern is fantastic and I do love the way patterned fishnets feel so classy. My only problem with them is they start to rub the soles of my feet if I’m doing any amount of walking.
