bows

Tights in August?!
What does this mean? Tights in August?! Has global warming changed our environment that much? Well I think a a bit.
So the month started with this pair of tights. One of my bulk buys from China. If you remember I had bought two lots of bulk buy and you will notice in the next few posts that some of these will be of the same patterns. This is one with bows on them which is the same pattern as my post from March “Bows for the Big Day“. This batch seemed to fit better with a slightly longer leg which meant less tight droppage. I still had to pull up!
Where have I been? Well I’ve been a bit lazy and not posted for a few weeks. I’ve been into the last few cycles of my chemotherapy and to be honest, it’s really taken a lot out of me. I should get back to normal pretty soon and due to the laziness, the rubbish summer and the start of more autumnal weather it means I’ve got so much more to share.

Bows for the big day
What do I wear for my first chemo session? Well it’s bows for the big day. With a little help from my little friend These Primark childrens pink bows and toes was proudly presented by my niece so we matched for the day and I got out these bows on sheer tights from China.

Primark Sparkly Bows
The cold has got me. I tried so hard to be fair and to wear my winners before resorting to the remainders but my winners didn’t win because they were thick winter barriers. I have had to delve to the bottom of the storage box and pull out a few cold friendlier tights. This pair was one of them, at least they had a bit of sparkle.

“Oroblu Miss”ed me
Over the Summer months I’ve “Oroblu Miss”ed me looking at all the beautiful hosiery I could buy. Granted Summer probably isn’t the season for tights so the range of designs has been a bit sparse. I did manage to grab some out of season specials so all was not lost.
I got these out and look at the detail! A dotted waist band and a faux panty line for modesty, just in case you’ve spend all your money on silly expensive tights and none on knickers. I was impressed a nice, flash touch I thought.
These are Oroblu “Miss” tights with a clever barbed wire design made up of spots and stripes and a polka dot garter pattern with a bow round the back just to add a little more femininity.

They were lovely. Great design, hidden specials and they felt smooth and silky due to their sheer quality.
I did get a shock at the end of the day. My dress was silky and lined but I found some snags in them… Here on the left leg. I don’t remember them when I put them on and because they are such a well made hosiery I don’t remember having to pull them up either. I must, I must moisturise my hands. It’s the only thing I can muster that could possibly cause this damage, dry skin!

Backed up with Laces and Bows
She turned her back and left in a flurry of laces and bows. That’s the effect I would have had if I were a heroine in a novel. These are Gabriella Carla holdups, received from legitup. A stunning looking pair of holdups with a lacey top, block black colour and revealing backs. The pattern of laces and bows had a little sparkle. They were comfortable and my only niggle was the silicon strip wasn’t very sticky. I had to endure quite a bit of cleaning (of the strip) and pulling up (of the stocking). This I think led to the pattern movement so the backs became the sides, if you get my meaning. Always looking for an excuse, because none of my hosiery is bad, they were new – and I had moisturised – so maybe that’s why they became unstuck.

Adrian Lora
Had a bit of fun with Adrian Lora tights today. Check out the back
with the bow at the top, There’s also the backseam which always look glamorous
From the cover picture you can see the wide garter thigh detail.
Finally I thought you should see the cover picture to see the design from the back
Great fun with fun coloured knickers!

Bows All Over
Bows All Over these Pamela Mann tights. I really like this brand. I think they’re bold and funky and I love their range of patterns. They try to fit all sizes but that means their “one” size tights are too long for me and their small size is also too long for me. I experienced a lot of wrinkling at the knee today but I love, love their style so that will conquer all and I will keep wearing them.

Take a Bow
Take a bow, or maybe a few that go down the back of your leg. I have on Asda George tights. Black hosiery with a repeating bow design down the back seam. They had a silky feel so I felt quite luxurious. Good fit, not too long and with manageable slippage, hey they did fall, a really good pair of tights. I was pleasantly surprised. Good job!
PS Thought I’d make a special mention that the package is a resealable bag so excellent for storage purposes.

Pretty Stockings
The problem with stockings is they draw the wrong type of attention which is a shame because they are really pretty and quite comfortable. On a typical Spring or autumnal day they can provide warmth but also ventilation! This pair, from Italy, are black with a floral pattern. The stocking tops are nude coloured with bows, so pretty and unusual, but hidden from the public eye! Pretty stockings indeed.
Additional blogging. Great news, whilst opening a pack for blog entry “bit draughty in here“, I found the tights version of these hold ups. Drum roll please… They are by Trasparenze called Carillon in black.
